My mother is an Anglophile. While my classmates were watching Friends, Sex in the City, Dawson’s Creek, etc… My mom and I were watching Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Midsomer Murders, and every British period drama ever made. So, I didn’t understand pop culture references for a good decade. While my friends ate after school snacks, I savored afternoon tea. Earl grey always. I traveled to England with my parents twice when I was in elementary school. But, alas, all I can remember is a wildlife park and a particularly cozy B&B in the Cotswolds.
Fast forward 20+ years, and I finally returned to England. I’m a bit predisposed to liking England (thanks Mom), but I wasn’t prepared to fall in love with England. And, that I did.
Kati and I spent a few weeks in Southern England, exploring Brighton and the South Downs. And, then we took a most marvelous road trip through Cornwall. My life changed. A year later, we returned to Cornwall for the whole month of May (guides coming soon).

Best Things to Do in England
Walk from Seaford to Eastbourne along the Seven Sisters Cliffs Coastal Trail
The Seven Sisters are a series of chalk cliffs stretching from Cuckmere Haven to Birling Gap in East Sussex, England.
These white cliffs along the English Channel are one of Southern England’s most striking landscapes. The best way to experience the Seven Sisters cliffs is by walking the coastal trail from Seaford to Eastbourne. The 21.9 km (13.6 miles) Seven Sisters walk is rather easy, though not flat.
Read Seven Sisters Cliffs Walk to learn more about this spectacular coastal hike.
Road Trip Across Cornwall
Forming the south-west tip of England, the county of Cornwall is defined by rugged cliffs, darling fishing villages, secret cove, and some of the most stunning beaches in Europe.
As you explore this region, you might feel like you’re stepping into a historical film or high fantasy novel. It’s that bewitching.
The best way to experience Cornwall is on a road trip.
