Hi Guy,

We only hiked a section of trail 651, specifically between the Pisciadu Hut and the valley. That’s a regular hiking trail, albeit steep in some places. There may be some secured areas. It looks like the final stretch along trail 651 to Rifugio Boe is “dotted” on the official Tabacco trail map, which means that’s it probably heavily secured.

I would reach out to the Alta Badia tourist office for help.

Kindly,
Sabrina

Thank you so much for your posts — they’re very helpful. My wife and I hiked in the Dolomites for 6 days last September and were thrilled with your recommendations.
This September, we are returning, and hiking part of the AV2 trail, staying hut to hut.
I am wondering if you know about the final ascent on trail #651 up the Val de Mesdi to Rif Boe. (We’re stayin g at Rif Fassa.) Some posts say that the cables are missing, and some say it’s challenging but fine.
We have VF gear, and have enjoyed the ‘easier’ VF routes, but would find anything ‘technical’ to be beyond our capacity.
Thanks for your help.
Guy and Kerry.
