Moon & Honey Travel is designed to inspire your outdoor travel adventures.

By creating hiking-themed travel itineraries and trail guides, we endeavor to connect you with the most pristine and majestic destinations in Europe. 

Hi, we’re Kati and Sabrina, an Austrian and a US-American couple based in Vienna. 

Sabrina is originally from Monterey Bay, California, and Kati is from Vienna, Austria. We met in San Francisco back in 2015. In 2016, we moved to Cologne.

After almost a year in Germany, we decided to leave Europe and travel to New Zealand and Southeast, South, and Central Asia. Right before that 8-month-trip, we road-tripped from Cologne to Vienna, stopping in Appenzell and the Dolomites along the way.

It’s that trip that changed our lives. That’s when and where we fell in love with hiking in the Alps.

At the end of 2017, we launched our blog. From the very beginning, our intention was to help like-minded travelers discover lesser-known destinations and authentic travel experiences.

As we continued to travel, we discovered that we primarily travel to hike.

As hikers and travelers, we value pristine landscapes, independent exploration, authentic experiences, and safety. We’re not into counting countries, or seeing top attractions.

We’re interested in deepening our knowledge of the places we love and sharing those insights and discoveries with you.

And, of course, we LOVE hiking! Hiking connects us to the earth and to ourselves. We believe hiking is healing.

Current Travels

In our current season of exploration, we’re obsessed with traveling in the Alps, especially the Italian Dolomites, Austrian Alps, and Slovenian Alps. There is no place in the world that combines nature and luxury as sublimely as the European Alps. 

While the Alps occupy a special place in our hearts, we also love hiking in other regions of Europe like Picos de Europa National Park in Northern Spain, the Vicentine Coast of Portugal, the Anaga Mountains of Tenerife, the Tramuntana Mountains of Mallorca, and the Dinaric Alps of Montenegro.
